What is Boys Only Hip-Hop?

Yes, we did it! Boys ONLY Hip Hop and Fitness class.
This is just for “the boys” Hip Hop and some Fitness. Makes this a great fit for boys who love to move. When we talk about Hip-hop dance we are referring to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

Hip Hop dancing includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, waving, grooving and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

What to expect?

Expect a high energy class. A controlled chaos environment.
Dancers will go through a dynamic warmup, then 5-15 mins of fitness and stretch. We do 5-15 mins of fitness to remove that little aggressive energy that boys have. Once we are done with the fitness component of the class, we go through skill work. Here the dancers go through 1-2 new moves.
Lastly, dancers learn a new combination (combo/dance).

Why we started it?

We started our boys only Hip Hop to help boys build confidence, confidence to physically express oneself.

What do you wear to a hip-hop dance class?

Wear something comfortable shorts, sweatpants, t-shirt something that you feel comfortable moving in and that you don’t mind getting sweaty. Sweatpants or other loose-fitting athletic pants and a tank top or t-shirt are the usual attire for hip-hop class. If it’s cold, wear a sweatshirt or some type of layer to make sure you get warmed up in class; this helps prevent injury. And clean sneakers
